BELVA’S BACK:
Country music star declares, “I’m BACK!”

Img13.png

6.08.04 - After a mysterious disappearance of almost six months, Belva Chalk was reunited with her sisters, Judeen and Judelle, just days before their New York City concert dates.

While stopping to refuel their bus at the Hi De Ho Truck Stop on Route 81 north in Abraham Lincoln, Pennsylvania,  Judeen and Judelle were inside the establishment when the surprise reunion occurred. Belva merely walked up to their table. grabbed a french fry from Judelle’s plate, and said hello. However, with her physical appearance drastically different from six months ago, Belva was almost unrecognizable to her sisters.

“Who the hell are you’” were the first words out of Judeen’s mouth.

She later clarified her reaction, “Well she looks completely different and with the way some folks glom on, you can understand my bein’ cautious.”

Judelle’s response was more reflective. “It was just like in the scriptures when Jesus visits the apostles after rising from the dead and nobody recognizes him. It was just like Jesus comin’ back -  except as a girl who’s  taller and can sing better.”

Details remain unclear and reports are conflicting as to Belva’s whereabouts during her disappearance. A spokesman for the country star described the youngest Chalk’s absence as “me time.”

Judeen later clarified that statement, calling Belva’s time away  “all about me time,” possibly a reference to the fact that she and Judelle were left to complete post-production on their new CD and fulfill their touring commitments without their sister.

Belva has also suggested that she may have been the victim of an alien abduction. No one in The Chalks’ organization would confirm or deny this version of events, “out of respect for our fans who really have been abducted by aliens.”

It may take a while before all the facts are known. Judelle offered her perspective, “We’re waitin’ on some lab test results. But she’s singin’ the right harmony parts and somehow or other she learned to play the heck out of a fiddle. That suits us just fine.”

CHALK UPDATE:  BELVA IS MISSING - AGAIN!

missing.png

Shortly before the Super Bowl Pre-Game Show, Belva Chalk mysteriously disappeared and is still unaccounted for. Judelle Chalk, the last to see her sister, reports, “We were trying to make our way to the stage, but got separated wading through that giant marching band. I was ducking a trombone and when I came up I thought I saw her hoisted up on the drum major’s baton. Right then I got blind-sided by a cymbal and that’s the last I saw of her."

The search for Belva was delayed due to an overly long set by Toby Keith. The Country superstar was bogged down by a glut of mid-tempo anthems and inflated self-importance. By the time a search of the area was performed, the only signs of Belva were some crushed rhinestones on the ground and a sequined appliqué on the drum major’s boot.

When reached for comment, Judeen Chalk responded, “Please tell that drum major to return that appliqué. Those things cost money.”

This is not the first time that the youngest Chalk sister has gone missing. Records reveal a pattern of dropping out of sight for extended periods of time only to turn up later with a flimsy explanation and a strapping new boyfriend. But as Judelle says “Most of the fans want more of me anyway, so her absence will help the folks on the right side of the audience to see me better.” In the meantime, Judeen and Judelle vow to keep making music, “That is what we were put on this earth to do. She’ll turn up. Or maybe she won’t. Chalk it up!!!”
